  status.\r\nIt's time to end the façade.\r\nTax-exempt status is inte
 nded to be provided to organizations that are more than making money, 
 especially ones that are trying to help the public with their mission.
  Even without mentioning the recent instances, Madden NFL 24 has prove
 n that it is solely focused on making a profit and benefiting itself a
 nd its teams, as USA Today pointed out:\r\n\"If there's a rationale of
  tax exempting business leagues, it will be their public interest of h
 elping commerce to all people within the broad spectrum of a type of b
 usiness or business general\" claimed (Philip) Hackney, one of the LSU
  legal professor, who had previously worked as an IRS attorney who arg
 ued tax-exempt organization issues. \"Commerce is important for our co
 untry and we should be encouraging those involved in the field in a pu
 blic manner. These (sports) organisations according to me, are not pub
 lic-minded in their profits. They are focused on the profits that thei
 r teams make.\"\r\nThere's a misguided expectation to think of sports 
 organizations as entities which transcend the realm of business and ar
 e committed to the larger good. But in reality, that's pure rhetoric. 
 In reality, Madden NFL 24 is not focused on public benefit as well as 
 upholding a high moral standard. The NCAA isn't full of coaches hoping
  to safeguard athletes from consumerism. Your local marathon probably 
 not giving nearly as much money to charities as you believe it does.\r
