The Shattered League is running from today through March 3. If you've been wanting to get back into Old School RuneScape, this might be the right time to take the plunge. If you're planning on jumping into let us know your reasons below!

Runescape And Outriders aren't two games that people consider in tandem so the sight of a Runescape player address r/Outriders may be a shock. This led to an interesting discussion and post between fans of both games. The whole thing boils down to a single previous Jagex worker: David Osborne, otherwise known to the Runescape community as Mod Osborne.

Osborne recently announced on LinkedIn that he's resigning from Jagex after fifteen years of content editing as well as narrative design and lead design. He took the decision in order to "test his experience in the other sector." Osborne is leaving Jagex and will immediately join Square Enix on the publishing side, where he will be a Senior Designer. The new role will include overseeing "some fantastic games," starting with Outriders.

The revelation prompted Redditor FatNWackyRS to contact members of r/Outriders with an easy message about Mod Osborne, describing him as the "warm and friendly "Dad" face of Jagex." FatNWackyRS describes everything Mod Osborne has been doing for the community over the years, and includes some clips, such as acting as Mod Elfborne to help promote Prifddinas (an Elf City in Runescape) in livestreams, joining and contributing to Jagex's mission.

Some communities or gamers might be unhappy with the loss of a well-known brand, FatNWackyRS invited other Runescape players to post their stories. One commenter, notably, claims that they've won and lost because they play at both Runescape together with Outriders. Others were excited at this news, and some even were not familiar with Osborne before, thanks to this glowing review from a member of the Runescape community.

What exactly will happen on his end of the Outriders fence remains to be seen, however fans know a lot of exciting things are coming to the game. Outriders' Worldslayer expansion is expected to be announced sometime in spring . It is expected to launch this year and, beyond that, People Can Fly has a variety of other projects in the work--including another game in partnership with Square Enix. It is unclear if Osborne will be involved with thatproject, however, remains to be seen.
