მიხიდხარ მზისკენ, უახლოვდები და ის გშორდება, გაურბიხარ და ის გიპყრობს, ამოსუნთქვა გინდა და მტვრით ივსები, წყალს ეძებ და მირაჟი გხვდება. უნიკალური ადგილია სამყაროს შესაცნობად, სიკვდილთან დაახლოებისთის.
საჰარა დედამიწის უდიდესი უდაბნოა, მისი ფართობი 7მილ.კვ.კმ. საჰარა ოდესღაც დაფარული იყო სავანეებით და ტყეებით. დღეს კი უჩვეულოდ მშრალი ჰაერია. აქ არის ისეთი ადგილები სადაც წვიმა წლობით და ათწლობით არ მოდის, ხოლო თუ მოდის ზედაპირზე დაცემამდე ორთქლდება, მიწამდე კი ერთი წვეთიც არ აღწევს. საოცარი ის არის რომ ასეთ ადგილებში, სრულიად მოულოდნელად იწყება ისეთი დიდი თავსხმები, რომლებიც ძლიერ წყალდიდობას იწვევს, დიდი ფართობი ადამიანის სიმაღლეზე იფარება წყლით. ამბობენ, რომ საჰარაში უფრო მეტი ადამიანია წყლით დამხვრჩალი, ვიდრე წყურვილით დაღუპული.
ტრიპოლთან ახლოს ჰაერის ტემპერატურა ივლისში 58 გრადუს –აც აღწევს. კლდეების მუქ ზედაპირზე ტემპერატურა შეიძლება მიუახლოვდეს 100 გრადუსს.
დღისით უდაბნოში ცხელა, ღამე ცივია. ჰაერის ტემპერატურეს სადღეღამისო რყევა 30 გრადუსს აღემატება. მაგრამ დღის სიცხეს ადამიანი უფრო ადვილად იტანს, ვიდრე ღამის სიცივეს.
ყველაზე აუტანელი ხანგრძლივი ქარბუქებია. მტვრისა და ქვიშის გრიგალი საოცარ სანახაობას ქმნის, ისინი ბობოქარ ხანძრებს გვანან. ცხელი ქარბუქიანი დღეების შემდეგ ჰაერი საჰარაში ძლიერ ელექტროლიზდება, რკინის ნივთები, ტანსაცმელი, თმებიც კი ნაპერწკლებს ყრის. ქარბუქი ხშირად საოცარი სიძლიერისაა. ცნობილია შემთხვევა, როდესაც ძლიერად მბრუნავ ქარს აქლემის უნაგირი გადაუსროლია 20 მეტრზეც.
