პიტერ არჩერმა ეს სახლი დააპროექტა „ჰობიტისა“ და „ბეჭდების მბრძაბებლის“ ავტორის ჯონ ტოლკინის ერთგული ფანისთვის...
სახლის აშენების ერთადერთი მიზანი ჯონ ტოლკინის პერსონალური მუზეუმის შექმნა იყო. მისმა ერთგულმა ფანმა ამ მუზეუმში განათავსა 30 წლის განმავლობაში შეგროვებული ტოლკინის იშვიათი წიგნები და რელიქვიები.
