Paul Jackson Pollock დაიბადა 1912 წლის 28 იანვარს, ამერიკაში. 1929 წელს დაიწყო ხატვის შესწავლა, თუმცა მანამდე ის უკვე შემდგარი ხელოვანი გახლდათ. პოლოკი აბსტრაქტული იმპრესიონიზმის ერთ-ერთი დამაარსებელია. მისი ხელოვნება განსაკუთრებულია და მხოლოდ პოლოკისეული...
ხატავს ცეკვაში... ხატავს ფერებით და არაფერი მეტი... არანაირი ხაზები და ფიგურები... არაფერი ისეთი რაც ადამიანს ხელოვნების და ნამუშევრის აღქმაში რაიმე მინიშნებას მისცემს... უყურებ მის "ნაჯღაბნს" და ის არის ისეთი, როგორადაც უყურებ შენ, ერთი ინდივიდი...
"მთავარია რას გრძნობ და არა რას ხედავ" ამბობდა პოლოკი.... მისი შემოქმედება აღიარებულია როგორც პიკას ხელოვნების გათავისუფლებაში ყოველგვარი ჩარჩოებისგან...
ახალგაზრდობაშივე პოპულარულს მაინც ჰქონდა კონფლიქტი საყვარელ საზოგადოებასთან - ალკოჰოლიზმი! 1945 წელს იქორწინა მხატვარ ლი კრასნერზე, რომელმაც მნიშვნელოვანი როლი ითამაშა მის ცხოვრებაში...
